The Checklist
10 questions. Honest answers. Clear patterns in your gameplay will emerge by game 5.
Did you get first blood or die to first blood?
Identify the exact trade, position, or decision that swung first blood. Was it a matchup error, a jungler gank you didn't track, or an overextend?
What was your CS at 10 minutes vs your opponent?
Count the gap. If you're down 20+ CS, identify whether it was trading, backing timings, or wave management that caused the deficit.
Did you miss any obvious recall timing after a kill or tower?
After you win a trade or take a tower, look at whether you stayed too long or recalled at the wrong time and lost resources on both sides.
Did you ward river and enemy jungle before every fight?
Before any fight over an objective or skirmish, scan the replay. Was the enemy jungler tracked? Was a ward placed in the key bush or river entrance?
Did you track the enemy jungler on the minimap every 30 seconds?
Pause at 30-second intervals in your replay. Where was the enemy jungler? Did you adjust your positioning or game state based on that information?
Were your Teleport, Flash, and summoner spells used optimally?
Review every summoner usage. Was Flash used defensively when it could have been saved, or not used when it would have secured a kill?
Did you tilt after a death and change your playstyle negatively?
Look at the 3–5 minutes after each death. Did your decision-making become more aggressive, passive, or isolating? Tilted play leaves patterns in the replay.
Did you group at the right times after winning your lane?
After you have a CS or kill lead, track what you did with it. Did you group for Dragon/Baron fights, or did you stay in lane and let the lead stagnate?
What was your champion's win condition — and did you play toward it?
Before reviewing, write down your champion's ideal end state (split push, team fight, poke, etc.). Then check whether every macro decision moved you toward it.
What would a Diamond player have done differently in your 3 worst moments?
Pick the 3 moments where you died or lost the most resources. For each one, write out the alternative decision a higher-elo player would have made.
